Costco Wholesale is a multinational corporation which operates a chain of membership-only warehouse clubs. As of 2015, Costco was the second largest retailer in the world after Walmart, and as of 2016, Costco was the world’s largest retailer of choice and prime beef, organic foods, rotisserie chicken, and wine.

Costco’s worldwide headquarters are in Issaquah, Washington, an affluent suburb of Seattle. The company opened its first warehouse in Seattle in 1983, and today Costco has a total of 727 warehouses, including 547 in the United States and Puerto Rico, 102 in Canada, 39 in Mexico, 26 in the United Kingdom, 20 in Japan, 11 in South Korea, 10 in Taiwan, and one in Australia.

In 2015, Costco had 85 million members, making it the largest retailer with a membership model in the world. Costco sells products at low prices, often at very high volume. These goods are usually bulk-packaged and marketed under the Kirkland Signature label. Kirkland Signature is a private label used by Costco, and these products are often lower-priced than the same products sold under other brands in the store.

Costco is known for offering low
